Rasora is a recipe app that lets people discover, create, save, follow, and share recipes. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.
Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, display name, profile image, title, bio, and username.
- Recipe content: recipe names, descriptions, images, ingredients, directions, cuisine, course, tags, and visibility settings.
- Social activity: saved recipes, collections, followers, following, follow requests, restricted users, blocked users, and reports you submit.
- Messages: recipes and profiles you share with other users inside the app, and messages you receive.
- Device information: push notification tokens used to deliver Rasora notifications to your device.
- Technical information needed to operate the app, including authentication status and Firebase service logs.
- AI import data: text, URLs, screenshots, food photos, or dictated recipe text you submit for Import With AI, plus import metadata such as source type, source domain, and import timestamp stored with your recipe.
- AI Food Insights data: photos or food searches you submit for analysis, plus limited technical metadata such as input type, coarse pipeline used, timing, error type, and quota or abuse-prevention counters.
- Subscription status: whether your account is on the free or Pro plan, managed through Google Play, the Apple App Store, and RevenueCat. Rasora does not collect or store your full payment card details.
How We Use Information
- To create and manage your Rasora account.
- To show recipes, profiles, collections, saved counts, and follow relationships.
- To deliver in-app messages and push notifications.
- To support safety tools such as reporting, blocking, restricting, and moderation review.
- To improve reliability, prevent abuse, and maintain app security.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
Rasora does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
AI Credits and Import With AI
When you use Import With AI, Rasora sends the text, URL, screenshot, food photo, or dictated recipe text you provide to Google Vertex AI (Gemini) through our secure Firebase backend to generate a draft recipe. If you use speech input, your device or platform speech service may process audio according to its own settings, and Rasora stores the resulting text you submit. We store import metadata (such as source type, source domain, and import timestamp) with your recipe so attribution and moderation remain possible. AI output may be inaccurate — always review ingredients and steps before publishing. Free accounts receive 7 AI Credits per calendar month; Pro subscribers receive 100 AI Credits per billing period. AI Credits can be used across Import With AI, AI Food Insights, and future Rasora AI tools. Unused credits do not roll over.
AI Food Insights
When you use AI Food Insights, Rasora may send the photo or food search you provide to Google Vertex AI (Gemini) and trusted nutrition data providers through our secure Firebase backend to identify the food, estimate nutrition, calculate a health score, and generate recommendations. In v1, AI Food Insights is analysis-only: Rasora does not permanently save the submitted image or the generated result to your account. We may keep limited technical metadata such as input type, coarse pipeline used, timing, error type, and quota or abuse-prevention counters to operate the feature, prevent abuse, and control costs. We do not use your submitted images or text to train Rasora models. Food insights, health scores, and nutrition estimates are informational only and may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Subscriptions and Billing
Rasora Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment, renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled by the store you purchased through. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and sync your Pro entitlement to your account. We do not store your full payment card details.
Service Providers
Rasora uses Firebase and Google services for authentication, cloud database, storage, push notifications, and app infrastructure; Google Vertex AI for AI recipe import and AI Food Insights; trusted nutrition data providers for nutrition lookup and food analysis; and RevenueCat for subscription management. Uploaded images may be automatically scanned by Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch to detect unsafe content as part of our safety compliance. Images flagged as unsafe may be removed and the associated account reviewed. Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple are available as optional login methods. These services are governed by their providers' privacy policies.
Public Content
Recipes or profile information you mark public may be visible to other Rasora users. Private recipes are intended to be visible only to you and authorized moderators where needed for safety or support.
Data Retention
When you delete your account, your profile, private recipes, messages, saved recipes, and follow data are deleted within 30 days. Public recipes are attributed to "Deleted User" rather than removed immediately, so other users who saved them retain access — make recipes private before deleting your account if you want them removed. Certain records such as reports, moderation logs, and safety-related data may be retained longer where required for legal compliance, abuse prevention, or law enforcement purposes.
Your Rights
You can access, correct, or delete your account data at any time within the app. To request a copy of your data (data export) or to exercise any other privacy right, email support@myrasora.com with subject line Privacy Request and we will respond within 30 days.
EU and UK users have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to data portability, the right to rectification, and the right to object to processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
California Residents (CCPA)
Rasora does not sell your personal information. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information (which does not apply here as we do not sell data). To exercise these rights, contact support@myrasora.com.
Children
Rasora is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Account Deletion
You can delete your account inside the app: open Settings (menu ☰ or Profile gear) → Personal Information → Delete Account. You can also follow the instructions at myrasora.com/delete-account.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice in the app or by another appropriate method and may ask you to acknowledge the updated policy before continuing to use Rasora. Updates apply only after the updated policy is posted or otherwise communicated. Previous versions are retained internally for compliance and dispute review.
